Your Core
The philosophy beneath Unbinary Kundan
Most leadership development works on The Doing — communication, presence, decision frameworks. Some goes deeper into The Becoming — beliefs, emotional patterns, personality. Almost none touches The Being — the operating state, the values actually lived, the version of self driving every decision.
This is where the work begins.
Every Leader has a core
The question is whether you have examined yours—or whether it is examining you
Every leader operates on three layers simultaneously. The world sees The Doing — the decisions, the culture, and the relationships built or avoided. Beneath that is The Becoming — the personality, emotions, and beliefs shaping the behavior. And beneath that is The Being—the foundation that holds everything, the operating state that determines the quality of everything above it.
Most interventions address the top layer. Some address the middle. The Being goes unexamined — until a crisis forces the examination, or the gap between who you say you are and what you actually create becomes too wide to ignore.
Three layers
The real work begins when you can see all three clearly.
Why most leadership interventions do not hold
Most target The Doing — communication training, decision frameworks, executive presence. Some go deeper into The Becoming — emotional intelligence, belief work, personality profiling. Almost none touch The Being — the operating state that determines the quality of everything above it. The output improves. The state reasserts itself.
The 2% Rule works in the opposite direction. Small consistent shifts at The Doing layer create new patterns in The Becoming — which over time recalibrate the operating state at The Being.
This is not a quick process. It is the only one that holds.
The Four Operating States
At the centre of Your Core sits your operating state — the 4S state you are currently running from. Not your personality type. Not your leadership style. The state beneath the behaviour.
Survival: Driven by fear, pressure, and urgency. Decisions made to avoid loss.
Superiority: Driven by ego, control, and validation. Achievement as identity. The most common state among high-performing Indian founders and senior professionals.
Self-Attainment: Driven by growth, clarity, and responsibility. Decoupling worth from output. Choosing rather than proving.
Spirituality: Driven by contribution, alignment, and legacy. Purpose beyond personal gain.
Most leaders are in Superiority with Survival anxiety beneath the surface. They perform the former while running the latter. That gap is the fracture point and it shows up in every interaction.
The frameworks that make this diagnostic
-
4S Model
Four operating states — Survival, Superiority, Self-Attainment, Spirituality. Not personality types. States that change based on four causal factors. The diagnostic base of all the work.
-
Six Pillars
Physical, Emotional, Financial, Professional, Relational, Social. Deprivation in one compounds deprivation in others. Strength in one does not compensate for collapse in another.
-
4S Drivers
Systems and Structure, Culture, Resources, and External Factors. These four conditions determine which 4S state an individual or organisation is operating from. Change the conditions — and the state shifts.
-
The 2% Rule
Consistent compounding change — not radical overhaul. Small sustainable shifts at The Doing layer that compound upward into genuine state change over time.

The Individual Maturity Index takes 10 minutes. It maps your 4S operating state, your six-pillar health, and the gap between your Fixed Core and your Operating Core. It shows you where you actually are — not where you think you are.
